Dear Doc

Please could you give me advice for my wife and I as we are uncertain on how to deal with our 8 year olds toilet habits.

He is a wonderful gentle natured little boy, who at times does not wipe his bum properly after using the toilet. He does not call us for assistance as he feels embarresed and often has accidents in his pants if he is at school or aftercare, and when this does happen he does get teased by his peers.

My wife and I have shown him how to wipe his bum but yet he still has the evidence left behind. I have in the past shouted at him for his dirty habits and do feel I am not the best person to help, as my wife thinks I have my own toilet issues. I am desperate as I do not want my child to be ridiculed or embareesd by this

Please could you advise me on the best method to eradicate this problem

regards
Noel
