Question: I have smoked for thirty years, but now I have definitely decided to stop. The reason is that I am getting loose teeth and the dentist says that this may be caused by smoking. Stopping is the only way to save them. I also think my face has become very grey and wrinkled. On previous occasions, when I temporarily succeeded, I noticed that I looked fresher and rosier. I have never succeeded in stopping for more than about two months because I gain weight even though I don't think I eat more than usual. I am really afraid of becoming fat so I would like to know if there is any method of stopping smoking without going up in weight. Incidentally, I have never eaten a lot of cakes or chocolate.
