Abstract:
Depending on how much the person or others are distressed, a treatment can be set up. However, these treatments are not often used and the result of them is therefore uncertain.
Question:
How can excessive interest in making love be treated?
Answer:
If the person or others are distressed by this excessive desire for
sex, the problem should be treated. The treatment of excessive sexual
desire may be based on relation therapy, psychotherapy or medication.
In the case of mood disorders, e.g manic disorders, which can cause
excessive sexual desire, the medicine lithium if often prescribed.
Seroxat is also a substance which is often used and may give good results
in combination with behavior therapy.
