Question:

Is fasting healthy? What are the benefits of fasting? Is it a good weight loss method?

Answer:

Of course, fasting can sometimes be beneficial. For example, I know a girl who had serious eczema over her entire body, who was cured by fasting and a change of diet.

However, concerning obesity and eating disorders, fasting is not a successful method. In this case, it is most important to eat in a way which satisfies the body's nutritional needs and to become more sensitive to the body signals which control hunger and satisfaction.
