Abstract:

In a few cases, ADHD is connected to speaking problems. There is unfortunately no known good cure for this problem.

Question:

Is there a connection between ADHS and Stuttering? I am a speech therapist and work with some children, I assume have ADHD. Do you know anything about this topic?

Answer:

It is not unusual that children with ADHD have development delays and/or additional disturbances. A small amount of children also have obvious problems with speaking. Unfortunately there are no good, useful therapies to recommend for this problem. However there is a good article that have been published about this subject in a specialist journal (see sources), which could possibly be helpful.
