What thoughts are used by the anorexia patient to maintain the illness?

The usual such thoughts are:

  • Nothing will be better if I eat.
  • I am already too fat and if I eat I will be even fatter.
  • Eating only makes me feel bad.
  • Everything I put in my mouth must be removed by exercise.
  • I feel much better if I don't eat.
  • Food makes me feel bad.
