How common is panic and anxiety disorders for women and men?

Answer:

Data from the OPCS 1995 household survey show the following incidence of anxiety- and panic-related disorders:

Disorder All adults Men Women
Anxiety Disorder 5 % 4 % 5 %
Panic Disorder 1 % 1 % 1 %
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) 2 % 1 % 2 %
Mixed Anxiety and Depression 8 % 5 % 10 %
